I really can’t believe that my wedding day is almost here! It’s so surreal. It’s crazy. I don’t think it’ll sink in until the day of when I’m getting my hair done and the first vendor, probably Beth McHenry
(our photographer!) arrives. When I finally do realize it, I’ll probably hold my stomach and need to take a seat, haha…in a good way!
Besides the emotional excitement, all of the plans are pretty much finalized! I just have a final meeting with our florist, our DJ and the caterers. Almost all of our RSVPs are in. And then there’s little things like deciding what kind of favors to have and making the seating assignments. But all of that is easy breezy!
Brad’s really excited, too! He tries on his wedding band every so often and says he can’t wait to just leave it on. He’s mine…hands off. =) I picked up his Army uniform from the tailor’s and dry cleaner’s the other day. It’s funny because before I even met him, I always imagined having a military wedding. I always loved the idea of it. To me, it’s a timeless tradition. I just think it’s beautiful and so special. I already can’t wait to see our wedding photos! I’m weird, I know, but I can’t help it!!!
Well, a few weeks ago my mom and sister threw me a bridal shower in Jersey! All of my Pittsburgh girls traveled to Jersey to celebrate with my Jersey ladies. We had soo much fun. My sister is my maid of honor, and she planned lots of fun bridal shower games. It was awesome! The girls answered trivia questions about me and Brad such as, “Where are Brad and Ivona going on their honeymoon?” and “How did Brad propose to Ivona?” Lol…not everyone knew the answers, but they still put down correct answers like “he got down on one knee and said ‘will you marry me?'” And of course, that’s correct!, but he sent me on a scavenger hunt to the places that meant something to us. Agnes also had everyone choose a number, and whatever number they chose, they had to write us a note for that year anniversary. So we can’t open up those letters until Brad and I are celebrating that year! I thought that was a cute idea. She planned a lot of cute games like that. It was awesome…and it left me with the loveliest bridal shower memories!
Here’s a photo of my mom, sister and me at the shower…
Agnes bought very practical favors. She’s awesome. Measuring cups with a photo of Brad and I in it, filled with hersey kisses! Also, with Polish chocolate..yummmmmm.
Mmmmm…my cake was amaaaazing. Strawberries and cannolli filling…It was glorious!
My Pittsburgh girls had one of the cutest ideas for one of my gifts. They bought 4 or 5 bottles of wine/champagne. Each one is designated for a special occassion and has a rhyme on it to match that occassion. So cute! For example, we got a bottle of Prosecco (my fave!!) that says…
“The guests have gone home,
Hotel Morgan has turned off its lights,
Crack this bottle open,
To celebrate your wedding night!”
I love that! Another one is a bottle of sparkling cider that says…
“What?! A baby is coming?
Should we buy blue or pink?
No wine this time…
Now juice is your drink!”
How adorable. It’s such a cute idea! Here’s a photo of me reading these bottles. =) Thank you girls!
…I got pots…I love them…lifetime warranty, oh yes!
All my girls! I love you!!!! Thank you all!!!
Since we had everyone in the same spot, we did my bachelorette party that night, as well! My BFF, Erin (the beautiful, tan blonde all the way to the right!) planned the bachelorette party! It was amaaaazing! I’ve always wanted to go out in Hoboken–it’s where Frank Sinatra grew up, you know!–so she surprised me and planned Hoboken as the bachelorette spot! The first bar we went to was THE BEST! It’s called Black Bear, and everyone there was awwwwesome! It felt as if everyone in the bar was friends. Everyone was so cool. I had the best time! I’m so glad all you girls came to Jersey, and thank you Erin for making everything so lovely and wonderful and fun! I love you all so much! Final celebration in 25 days!!! =D!!!
