“Is she sweet?”

My sister sent me this text this morning as I was still laying in bed.  As I hit the reply button, the first image that came to mind was last night.  Brad and I sat in our respective tv-watching seats (doesn’t everybody have a favorite seat?), and Sasha found a comfy spot under the coffee table, with just her nose and paws sticking out.  Every so often, she’d come up and nuzzle her sweet little face in between us, just wanting some love.  And she’d lay her head sideways on us being the cutest dog ever!
We found our sweet doberman, Sasha, at the Animal Human Society here in El Paso.  Brad and I feel like we totally lucked out.  We wanted a doberman pinscher and as we walked up and down the aisles of pups, there was Sasha, fully attentive and quiet as can be.  She got up for us, sat and layed down, and after taking her for a walk around the area, I couldn’t bear the thought of not taking her home with us.  Even behind sunglasses, Brad could tell from my lips that I was getting all choked up…So he grabbed my hand and we proceeded to the front desk.
And here she is!  Yay Sasha!

It’s so funny, too, because if you’re someone who has known me since I was little, you probably can’t believe I’m a dog owner!  I can barely believe it myself.  As a little girl, I was deathly…deathly, scared of dogs.  I have a handful of memories, one of which was even a part of my sister’s toast at mine and Brad’s wedding!  I guess I was rehabilitated over the years.  =)
Regardless, we are so extremely happy to have Sasha be a part of our little family!  I highly recommend getting a rescue dog.  We are so happy we did.  Happy Monday!

She is soooo sweet. I wish she could smile b/c I'm always wondering if she's sad or happy.
